We Have Triumphed in The Ocean

As The Maritime Nation, Indonesia must be proud. Because with the vast ocean, Indonesia can reach the high benefits from their sea. In their sea,they can get the abundant oil reserves. Not only that , their fisherman always have a big chance to get many fishes. From the ocean,fishing communities can meet the needs of their lives like nutrition and profit to pay their children school fee , their needs to eat 3 times a day,and the others.

Seafood as one of many sources of nutrition that needed by Indonesian citizens,specially for residents of seaside. Only seafood as their side dishes.And I think,if we look from their situation,their need more facilities that their activities as fisherman. The first,fuel subsidies because their income only from the sea and if they have get many fish especially the big fish,they can closing their cost for fuel and the other costs. But otherwise the weather is not "friendly" and they have get little fish,so they can not closing their cost in fuel for tomorrow.

I think The Local Government must serve their people specially for fisherman. Not only subsidies in fuel,the infrastructure from the place that they save all of their fishes until markets. The government must build a special cooperative for fisherman. So the naughty moneylenders can't do anything and the fisherman can sell their hauls with the higher price than they sell to the moneylenders.

Not only the problems in moneylenders,infrastructure and the fuels but the technology needed for them. In The Developed Country,they used fish finder with sonar sensor to simplify the fisherman to get the "Big Hauls" for one day and the next day. I think that technology not too expensive to apply in Indonesia. Many areas in Indonesia still using the conventional system to catch fishes in sea. The local government must build one office that serve the fisherman with this technology,so before they go to sea,they was know where is the position with many fishes and the impact they can save more fuel in the sea.

Not only the fish finder technology with sonar sensor,the seaside residents need the technology that supporting detection of early disaster. This is the expensive technology,but we need it. We must keep them from disaster,because they're our front line in this nation,so when a disaster come to our city,our village, they are the first to meet it. Our hope together the fisherman always be the priority by government.

Livestock as An Opportunity

If we look from the title of this article,why the livestock as the opportunity? What's opportunity that offers for us? A business of course !!! Why ? Because all people on the world will continue multiply , so they need foods and nutrition for their growth. I think if every breeder increase their production on their farm. The needs of foods has not fulfilled . We can see in this situation now. Every year , Indonesian always imported meats from the other country example Australia. This is the fact that the supply from our breeder from Sabang to Merauke cannot fulfill the demand of the meats. Very ironic situation. As the big nation with the agricultural as the primary livelihood cannot fulfill own needs in agricultural sector generally and livestock specially.

This is the big opportunity for us , the young generation in this nation to start and create new job for other persons about us. As the scholar , we must think what will we do after we finish from an university. Maybe we will looking for the job vacancies in the national companies , or we will start a new own business. The choices in you,because your life is in your hands . Not in your parents,you will leave them and you will be a father or mother too.

I know to be a businessman in the world of livestock is not easy like stand up from your chair. We are require a substantial capital to start this business. The substantial capitals are funds , location , teenagers , or maybe the mental of businessman. If we don't have the sufficient capitals , we can take the job or side business , after that we can save every months from our income,or maybe we can invest a few of which our income every months like invest in gold or the others , until we have sufficient capitals we can start as the beginner businessman. I think every persons in this world would not be the permanent workers. We can start from the beginner step as the breeder. I sure every persons need to eat the meats , the milk , the eggs. Besides we are the worker in a company we have a new business. I sure...,I will...and remember There is a will there is way.

Agriculture as The Primary Industry

As The Agricultural Country,Indonesia must list agriculture sector as their primary interests. Not only The Agricultural Country,all nations in this world must have have development in this sector. Because without agriculture,a nation will import all the goods from this sector like rice , vegetables , fruits , meats and the others to supply their citizens who want to eat everyday.

For the example,Singapore. All of they needed to eat imported from the others,including Indonesia. Because they don't have the large field like Indonesia . By 710,2 km2 , Singapore can not apply agriculture systems in huge scale in their country. All their income is from taxes are quoted from the tourism sector , banking sector , public facilities even fines. By their revenues , they must import all foods for their citizens.

The situation is very different than Indonesia. Indonesia can support their needed by their own. By the large fields from Sabang to Merauke. Indonesia can supply their citizens without importing from the other nation.
If Indonesia seriously development and always researching in agriculture sector,it is not impossible Indonesia will be the bank of food in south east asia region. But very ironic,until end of 2009 , Indonesia can not accomplish their mission to self-sufficiency in meat. So Indonesia must imported from Australia to supply their need in meat.

Writer think,if Indonesia Government seriously development their agriculture sector,Indonesia don't need to imported rice from Thailand and Vietnam some previous time. Very ironic for Indonesia. If we look from our state area, Thailand or Vietnam not as wide as Indonesia but they can send their rice to their "Big Neighbor". Indonesia has experience self-sufficiency in rice but in long time ago,when the citizens not as much now.

In Indonesia , we can find the universities specifically in agricultural sector like Bogor Agricultural Institute and the others. But where is their role in the development sector in this nation? Maybe all of they research only printed in their journal. The government must see their potential , government must use them in the department of Agriculture. I think Indonesia has many experts in this sector. If we can reach self-sufficiency in raw materials,we can do the development in processing of these products. So The Agriculture sector could be one of strategic industry base in Indonesia. I sure,if all of stakeholders in this nation give their attention in this sector, I believe Indonesia will be The bank food for their own , for ASEAN region maybe Asia Pacific nations.
